Meet
Dr. Thomas Fisher
For more than two decades, Dr. Thomas Fisher has worked to improve health care as a board-certified emergency medicine physician in the same South Side Chicago community where he was raised. Dr. Fisher has been on the front lines of crisis, caring for patients who have been injured or sickened just trying to live — people whose pain is often dismissed as inevitable. But Dr. Fisher knows better. He’s seen how suffering stems not from personal failure, but from political choices. He’s running to represent Illinois’ 7th congressional district to change those choices.
Launching from Kenwood Academy, Dr. Fisher was educated at Dartmouth College, The University of Chicago School of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health. In the emergency department he serves everyone, no matter their background, means, or immigration status. And over time he realized that the ER is where America’s failures show up: housing insecurity, gun violence, mental health crises, and insurance denials. Over and over, Dr. Fisher cared for patients harmed by systems that put profits over people and too often punishes poverty.
Fighting For Us
Dr. Fisher is running for Congress to bring urgency, clarity, and compassion to our broken politics. He’s fighting for universal healthcare, affordable housing, and bold action on gun violence. He believes care is a right, not a privilege — and that those closest to the pain have the wisdom to guide us forward.
Dr. Fisher’s priorities ensure that the folks in Illinois’ 7th Congressional District aren’t just scraping by but flourish. Together we can protect our most precious gift – the lives and bodies that let us love, hope, and come together.
